PURPOSE: A device and a method for controlling an electronic device based on user action are provided to enable a user to control an electronic device through an action after the user sets a control function of an electronic function in the action, thereby enabling the user to conveniently use control functions of various electronic devices. CONSTITUTION: A camera(100) photographs an image of a user who wants to control an electronic device. An action pattern extractor(110) uses the photographed image to extract an action pattern of the user. A function setup unit(120) sets a control function of an electronic device in the extracted action pattern. A controller(140) extracts the control function of the set electronic device. The controller controls the electronic device using the extracted control function. |
