The system has a control and processing unit (6) receiving data provided by a current sensor (7), which measures current absorbed by an electric driving unit (5), when a platform (3) passes through a defined level (H1) situated above a lower rest point (H0). The control and processing unit compares the data with prerecorded calibration data entered at the defined level relative to variation of intensity of the measured current based on variation of the load, generates data relative to weight of the load based on the comparison result, and transfers the data to a display unit (8). The driving unit is one among a hydraulic device and a machine motor. The current sensor is one among inductive and resistive coil devices.
