PURPOSE: Mastic extract and an extraction method thereof are provided to improve water solubility by extracting the mastic extract with ethanol which is orally given to a person as a solvent, and to improve usability of the extract in a chemical, a food, and a cosmetic fields. CONSTITUTION: Mastic extract is extracted to ethanol. A large quantity of gum is removed in the mastic extract. The ethanol is 70% hydrated ethanol. A ratio of the mastic and the ethanol is 1:1-20(w/v), respectively. The ethanol extraction is supercritical extraction using the ethanol. The extracts are powdered after a freeze-drying process. The extracts are contained in food, chemicals, beverages, shampoo, toothpaste or cosmetic. |
