PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for automatic controlling the side mirror of a vehicle to an axial direction are provided to secure a required view field by successively controlling the position of the side mirror using an electronic control unit(ECU). CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for automatic controlling the side mirror of a vehicle includes an information control ECU, a driving ECU, an interior local area network device. The information control ECU verifies the state of the vehicle. The driving ECU controls the side mirror to a desired axial position based on the information of the information control ECU. The interior local area network device controls the communication between the information control ECU and the driving ECU.
