PURPOSE: A method for preparing a metal catalyst for a fuel cell is provided to make a uniform and reproducible nano sized metallic catalyst at a room temperature without a chemical reducer. CONSTITUTION: A method for preparing a metal catalyst for a fuel cell comprises the steps of: (S1) preparing a composition for forming a catalyst by mixing a platinum-based metal precursor and solvent; and (S2) reducing the platinum-based metal precursor by irradiating gamma rays in a dose of 5-25 kGy/L per hour to the composition for forming a catalyst. The platinum-based metal precursor is selected from a group consisting of a platinum-based element-containing halide, nitrate, hydrochloride, sulfate, acetate, acetylacetonate, ammonium salt, amines, and combinations thereof. |
