PURPOSE: A mobile terminal for providing internal/external location change information and a method thereof are provided to offer the internal/external location change information by event information change in real time, thereby offering suitable service to users. CONSTITUTION: An internal/external location decider(120) analyzes a GPS signal of a GPS(Global Positioning System) receiver(110). The interior/exterior location decider decides current location of a portable terminal. If interior/exterior location of the portable terminal is changed, a location change sensor(130) outputs a corresponding event signal, event information includes interior/exterior location change information of the portable terminal. According to the event signal, the location information transmitter(170) transmits the event information to a preset terminal(200) through a communication network.
