PURPOSE: A system for detecting the operation of vehicle expendables through a vehicle network and a method for detecting the operation of vehicle expendables using the same are provided to enable safe driving by informing a driver of the replacement time of vehicle expendables in case the vehicle expendables do not work properly. CONSTITUTION: A system for detecting the operation of vehicle expendables through a vehicle network comprises sensing modules(110a,110b), a multimedia hub(120), and an output unit(140). The sensing module senses the operation state of the vehicle expendables. The multimedia hub determines the normal operation of the vehicle expendables through the sensing module connected by the vehicle network. In case the vehicle expendables do not work properly, the multimedia hub generates replacement messages of the vehicle expendables. The output unit receives the replacement messages of the vehicle expendables and outputs the messages visually and acoustically.
