PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for processing beauty in a digital image processing device are provided to separately store a face before beauty processing from a beauty-processed image and convert beauty-processed face region into a face region before beauty processing and modify a beauty processing degree on the restored original image for beauty processing. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus and a method for processing beauty in a digital image processing device include a display unit(23), a user input unit(31), a photographing unit(33), an image processing unit(35), a storage unit(37), and a digital signal processor(39). The display unit displays an image. The user input unit comprises a shutter-release button, a wide-zoom button, a remote-zoom button and a button with a touch sensor or a contact point switch. The photographing unit includes a shutter, a lens unit, an iris, a CCD and an ADC. The image processing unit signal-processes digitally converted RAW data to be displayable. The storage unit stores a JPEG file generated in the image processing unit. The digital signal processor combines a face region before beauty processing with a face region of a beauty-processed image to restore it into an original image.
