FIELD: automotive industry. ^ SUBSTANCE: proposed system comprises ignition lock, vehicle motion pickup, safety belt contact pickup, control unit and signaling device. In compliance with proposed method, signaling device switch-off instruction is generated and fed to control unit by at least two-stage change in safety belt pickup contact state during first preset time interval. Control unit is used to recognise signaling device switch-off instruction to switch off said signaling device at least before vehicle stops.
