FIELD: physics; communications. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention relates to transmission of multimedia data over communication networks. A method and system (10) for transmitting a multimedia message are proposed in which the sent multimedia message is processed by dividing it into at least a first part and a second part. The first part of the message is sent to the control element (70) of the multimedia messaging service, and the second part is sent to the element (50) of the metadata loader server. The recipient terminal device (20) notifies on transmission of the multimedia message. A request is given for sending the first part of the message from the control element (70) of the multimedia messaging service to the recipient terminal device (20) and a request is given for sending the second part of the message from the element (50) of the metadata loader server to the recipient terminal device (20). In the recipient terminal device (20) the first part of the message and the second part of the message are combined with formation of the sent multimedia message. ^ EFFECT: transmission of multimedia messages with large size of data. ^ 91 cl, 17 dwg |
