PURPOSE: A composition for preventing plant pathogenic Meloidogyne sp., which contains plant essential oil component is provided to enhance preventing effect to the plant Meloidogyne sp. and use as a preventing agent. CONSTITUTION: A composition for preventing plant pathogenic Meloidogyne sp. contains 10-1000 ppm of carvacrol as an active ingredient. The carvacrol is denoted by the chemical formula 3. The composition for preventing plant pathogenic Meloidogyne sp. further comprises a surfactant in the weight ratio of surfactant:carbacrol=9:1.
