A comminuting apparatus comprises a housing 1..4, a stator comprising groups of blades 11 on blade carriers 8-10, arranged around the periphery and spaced by sieve portions 12.. 14, an inlet 5, which is offset in the direction of rotation and a four-bladed rotor 6. Material fed in at 5 may pass through the sieve portion 12 after cutting at the first cutter blades 11 of the stator and so on around the rotor until all the material is cut. It is thus prevented from clogging the cutting space, or being over comminuted and forming unwanted fines. |
