An information processing apparatus and method includes generating an image to be displayed by a display section, determining, based on a processing capacity of a terminal connected with the information processing apparatus via a communications network or the information processing apparatus itself, a size of an image to be transmitted to the terminal. The image displayed on a screen is then divided into a plurality of segments based on the size determined to which is added positional information indicating an on-screen position of a segment. The segment of the image with the positional information added is then transmitted to the terminal via the communications network. The invention is applicable to remote access computer assistance systems. |
