<p>Weft- and warp- knit goods are cast on needle plates by a vibrator mounted on a supporting structure. Linked to the vibrator is a casting-on device adopted to be set next to the needle plate. The vibrator causes the casting-on device to vibrate in a direction parallel to the axes of the needles on the needle plate and thrusts the goods down on the needle stems. This machine can be used for close fabrics and braiding and has the merit of needing slight pressure in casting-on, compared to known methods, so that the shape of the plate is not impaired. The hands are freed for slipping the goods on the tips of the needles.</p> |
