A bale wrapper comprises a rotating arm (30) holding a film dispenser (32). The arm (30) rotates around an axis thereby wraps the film (52) from the film dispenser (32) around the bale (22'). Rotation of the arm (30) is stopped when a sensing arrangement mounted ahead of the arm (30) senses an obstacle. The arm (30) is driven with a first speed sufficiently slow to prevent any risk of injury and the arm (30) and the film dispenser (32) from getting damaged by hitting an obstacle detected by the sensing arrangement when an obstacle sensor (48) observing a sensitive range (50) in the environment of the bale wrapper (10) detects an obstacle. On the other hand, the arm (30) is rotating with a second speed faster than the first speed when the obstacle sensor (48) detects no obstacle. |
