The component has a box-shaped housing (1) and connection legs (4) provided for the mechanical and electrical connection of the component with a terminal pad of cover (7) and/or base e.g. printed circuit board, of the housing. The connection legs are led through from side walls (3) of the housing. A coil (10) has a coil winding (12), and is attached to the cover and/or base of the housing, where the coil is designed as a flat flex coil, a wire wound coil or a planar coil. Ends of the winding are connected with the connection legs. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing of an induction component for a surface mount device assembly. |
