The combine harvester has a sloping worm conveyor (9) which feeds the cut material towards the threshing drum (11) which is followed by the corn separator (7). These are mounted in line, fed from a crosswise worm conveyor at the bottom end. A drive shaft (14) extends through the threshing drum, which is conical, interconnecting the two worm conveyor parts (7, 9). These parts (7, 9) are rotated at a lower speed than the threshing drum (11). The drive shaft is connected to a speed reducer located inside a housing (19) at the bottom end. At the top end, this shaft is supported by a swinging bearing, to enable the gap at the threshing drum to vary. The three main parts (7, 9, 11) are enclosed by a common cylindrical housing. |
