PURPOSE: A flame retardant coating composition is provided to ensure excellent fire retardant characteristic and heat resistance by ensuring small bulk density and comprising a large amount of inorganic particles. CONSTITUTION: A flame retardant coating composition includes 100 parts by weight of inorganic particles and 20 ~ 70 parts by weight of polymer resin. The inorganic particle has a volume average particle size of 1 ~ 30 μm, specific surface area of 200 ~ 900 m^2/g, and pore volume of 0.4 ~ 2.0 ml/g. The inorganic particle has ignition loss of 0.1 ~ 15 %.
