PURPOSE: A method for setting QoS by a set request of a communication terminal and a communication terminal for the same are provided to prevent the waste of the network resource and set uplink QoS and downlink QoS according to the kind of communication services in the communication terminal. CONSTITUTION: A method in which a communication terminal(100) sets up a QoS(Quality of Service) is as follows. QoS change information according to the amount of data uploaded by communication network(140). The QoS change information is the information about data transfer rate, the traffic class and the maximum bandwidth. The QoS setting request corresponding to the generated QoS change information is transmitted in the communication network(S320). The communication network and QoS are set up the response about the QoS setting request is received from the communication network.
