The head has a cam shaft comprising a cam (5) that actuates an intermediate lever (1). Two of rollers (2a, 2b) are arranged on a control shaft (3) in a radial torque proof manner, where a valve stroke process caused by the cam is changeable. An operating contact surface (1a) and control contact surfaces (1b, 1c) are provided for the lever. The surfaces are arranged relative to each other and on top of each other. The lever with the control contact surfaces is supported at one of rollers (2b). The lever with the operating contact surface is supported at the other roller (2a).
