A rotor (4,4') for a helicopter (1), having a drive shaft (10) rotating about a first axis (B); a hub (11) angularly integral with the drive shaft about the first axis (B); and at least two blades (12) extending along respective second axes (C) crosswise to the first axis (B); each blade (12) is movable with respect to the hub (11) and the other blades (12) about a respective fourth axis (E) parallel to the first axis (B), about the respective second axis (C), and about a respective third axis (D) crosswise to the first and respective second axis (B,C); a number of first dampers (25,25') for damping vibration associated with at least oscillation of the relative blades (12) about the respective fourth axes (E); the first dampers (25,25') are connected to one another and each to a relative blade (12); and, in a radial direction with respect to the first axis (B), at least one first damper (25,25') is located between the first axis (B) and the fourth axis (E) of the relative blade (12).
