PURPOSE: A pharmaceutical composition for preventing and treating cancer is provided to suppress cancer cell proliferation and to administer for a long time with less side effects. CONSTITUTION: A pharmaceutical composition for preventing and treating cancer contains 10-70 weight parts of Rhodiola sachalinesis and 20-80 weight parts of Oldenlandia diffusa. The composition further contains 10-40 weight parts of Cistanche deserticola Y. C. Ma. A pharmaceutical composition for preventing and treating cancer increases expression of gene which suppresses carcinogenesis. The cancer is pancreatic cancer, liver cancer, stomach cancer, colon cancer, uterine cervix cancer, breast cancer, lung cancer or prostate cancer.
