A structure for attaching a fluorescent tube (5; 5A) includes a base (4), a holder (13) supported by the base (4), and a pair of contacts (15). The holder (13) holds an intermediate portion of the fluorescent tube (5; 5A) while restraining the fluorescent tube (5; 5A) from moving in a radial direction. To the pair of contacts (15), terminals (10; 10A) of a pair of end portions (9A) of the fluorescent tube (5; 5A) are respectively attachable in an attaching direction (D1) corresponding to the radial direction of the fluorescent tube (5; 5A). Each contact (15) includes a pair of elastic pieces (30, 31) facing each other. The pair of elastic pieces have a pair of straight portions (41) extending substantially straight in the attaching direction (D1) and facing each other. On the pair of straight portions (41), a pair of contact portions (42) for clamping the corresponding terminal (10; 10A) of the fluorescent tube (5; 5A) therebetween are formed. |
