Method and device for draining washed laundry

The method involves arranging a washed laundry (26) around a tube (19) in a cylindrical pressing cage (10) and outwardly applying pressure on the washed laundry radial to a perpendicular longitudinal middle axis (11) of the cage. A height of the pressing cage is larger than a diameter of the pressing cage. Large parts of fluid i.e. washing liquor, are squeezed out from the washed laundry. The squeezed liquid is outwardly removed radial to a direction of the axis by a cylindrical casing (21) of the pressing cage and axially drained in a direction of the axis. An independent claim is also included for a device for draining washed laundry.
