Sterilizing air wire iodine

A process for destroying bacterial organisms in air comprises mixing the air with air containing a volatilised iodine. The iodine is then removed by washing with liquid which forms a complex with iodine which acts as a biocide. The air emerging is free of iodine and biologically active material. the process also removes substances having a noxious odour.
