The light (1) has a light conductor plate (6) with a light distribution structure (9) provided at a lateral surface (7) of the plate for uniform illumination of a lateral surface (10) of the plate. The plate is transparent and/or translucent and flat. The structure is formed from a set of microstructures (8) e.g. micro lens structures. A pictogram (11) is assigned to the surface (10). A LED light source (2) is assigned to a section (12) of a circular light entering edge (13) of the plate for light coupling. The microstructures are arranged with a thickness of 1000 per centimeter square.
