The unit (2) has a transmission (6) operatively connected with a drive motor (4) and comprising a transmission element (8) e.g. hoisting drum. The transmission element is actuated by a shaft (10) of the transmission or a shaft of the drive motor. A self-locking element e.g. spring (14), cooperates with the transmission element and stops a drive. The self-locking element is provided between the transmission element and the shaft. The spring comprises a spring winding (14.2) and two spring brackets (14.1a, 14.1b) attached to the spring winding.
