1298138 Herbicides containing phenylthiopyridazines SANKYO Co Ltd 27 Nov 1970 [27 Nov 1969] 56506/70 Heading A5E [Also in Division C2] The invention comprises (1) a herbicidal composition comprising an agriculturally acceptable carrier and a compound of the formula: in which R 1 and R 2 are hydrogen, halogen, C 1-4 alkyl or NO 2 , provided that if one is NO 2 the other is hydrogen; and R 3 is hydrogen or C 1-4 alkyl; and (2) a method of inhibiting the growth of undesirable plants by applying to the plants or the soil a compound or a composition as defined above. Standard agriculturally acceptable carriers are specified, and the compositions may also contain other agricultural chemicals such as a fertilizer, insecticide, fungicide, or another herbicide, e.g. 2, 4- dichlorophenoxyaetic acid, 2-methyl-4-chlorophenoxyacetic acid, 2-(2-methyl-4-chlorophenoxy) propionic acid and salts, amides and esters thereof, sodium pentachlorophenoxide, 2, 4-dichlorophenyl 4'-nitrophenyl ether, 3- methylphenyl 4'-nitrophenylether and 2-methylthio-4, 6-bis (ethylamino)-1, 3, 5-triazine. |
