Bush with an end bearing face Consists of two parts, an annular supporting section and a thin annular bearing surface separated by an annular layer of elastic material, preferably foam rubber, severl times thicker than the bearing section. The three elements have the same radial dimensions and are fixed together. The bearing surface may be metal, ceramic or preferably PTFE or graphite. Compression of the intermediate layer holds the bush within the required aperture. The use of a thin bearing layer reduces production costs. |
