<p>The method involves inserting a tubular hub (3) into a recess (4) of a rotor lamination (2), and fastening the hub by widening the hub using electromagnetic forces. The recess is formed with a clearance fit (12) opposite to the hub before inserting the hub into the recess. The electromagnetic forces are produced by an electrical coil for widening the hub. The electrical coil is completely inserted into a tubular area (7) of the hub, where the electrical coil is operated and supplied with electric current from a capacitor for producing impulse electromagnetic forces. An independent claim is also included for a rotor component for an electrical machine.</p>
