Compositions comprise polybutene-1 or a copolymer of butene-1 with not more than 20 mole per cent of another olefin, and 5 to 25 weight per cent of an ethylene/propylene elastomer. The butene may be copolymerized with ethylene, propylene, pentene-1, 4-methylpentene-1, 3-methylbutene-1 or hexene-1. The elastomer may be an atactic copolymer of ethylene and propylene, with or without a diolefin, e.g. butadiene-1,2, butadiene-1,3, isoprene, cyclopentadiene, dicyclopentadiene and substituted cyclo- and dicyclopentadienes. The compositions may be formed by direct blending or by co-precipitation. Examples describe blends of polybutene and butene/propylene copolymers with ethylene/propylene and ethylene/propylene/ dicyclopentadiene elastomers. |
