A composition comprises 65-95% by vol. of finely divided metal particles and 35-5% of finely divided particles of an adhesive thermoplastic copolymer of ethylene and an ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid, anhydride or partial ester of a polycarboxylic acid, the copolymer particles being sufficiently small relative to the size of the metal particles so that the copolymer covers all the surface of each metal particle. The copolymer may comprise ethylene and acrylic acid which may be grafted on to polyethylene. The metal particles may be of Mg or alloy thereof with Al, Zn, or Sn; Al or alloy thereof with Si or Cu; Fe, Cu, Pb, Ti or Be, and may have a coating of oxide. Articles may be produced by forming the composition into the desired shape and fusing the metal and copolymer particles together using heat and pressure. |
