PURPOSE: A method for manufacturing a wire rod without surface defects is provided to eliminate defects generated on the surface of a wire rod by pre-processing the wire rod through electrolytic polishing or mechanical polishing. CONSTITUTION: A method for manufacturing a wire rod without surface defects is as follows. The surface of a steel rod with defects is pre-processed. The steel rod in which the surface is polished is wire-drawn so that a total reduction rate can be over 15%. The pre-processing is mechanical polishing or electrolytic polishing.
