The invention relates to the technology of application of precious metals on materials that can be used in various fields of technology, such as catalysts. A method for production of composite material based on palladium nanoparticles includes the sorption of palladium compounds [(NH)PdCl] on gel-like zirconium, aluminum or zinc hydroxide, with subsequent reduction of palladium with sodium hypophosphite at the respective temperature. The use of the invention provides uniform coating metal hydroxides throughout all their volume with palladium nanoparticles.
