PROPERTIES AND METHOD FOR MAKING NANOSTRUCTURED METAL CARBIDES-METAL HARD MATERIALS

PURPOSE: A method for manufacturing a nano-structured metal carbide-metal composite material is provided to perform press-molding and sintering processes and improve mechanical property. CONSTITUTION: A method for manufacturing a nano-structured metal carbide-metallic composite comprises: a step of nanopowderization by ball milling metal carbide powder; a step of mixing metal powder to the nanopowder; a step that of pressure-molding and sintering the compound powder while adding a heat generated by current; and a step of secluding current, were it not for change of contraction length of nanopowder, cooling the pressing-molded and sintered nanostructures to room temperature until current interception.
