PURPOSE: An image processing apparatus and a method thereof are provided to effectively remove an undesired signal of an edge of the signal without losing data of an original signal, thereby providing an improved TV watching environment. CONSTITUTION: A noise section determiner(351) decides whether a noise section exists in an edge of an original image. An image processor(352) processes an image for the noise section. An image output unit(365) outputs the processed original image on a display unit. A menu generator(360) offers a selectable menu about the noise section to the user. The noise section determiner automatically determines whether a noise section existing in the edge exists according to specific standards.
