Gold electrodeposition from potassiumaurocya

Electrolyte for pure Au electrodeposition on Ag, Ni, Cu or alloys (e.g. in printed circuitry) contains 1-180 g/l KAu(CN)2 at pH 5.2-5.8, in addition to orthophosphate and ammonium ions. Pref. electrolytic solution is prepared by dissolving in water 1-180 (esp 10-75) g/l KAuCN)2, 5-500 g/l (NH4)2HPO4 and 5-500 g/l (NH4)H2PO4. Pref. current density at cathode 3.76 A/sq. dm., and solution temp ranges from ambient to 90 degrees C. Pref. anode consists of Pt or Pt-coated Ti.
