PURPOSE: A method and a device for inputting a character are provided to input information rapidly by displaying a numeral input keypad of a popup format located near a selected input filed. CONSTITUTION: A mobile terminal displays an input field for a data and a time(S201), and a user selects an input field through a touch input for setting a date(S202). The mobile terminal displays the keypad corresponding to the input field on a touch a screen(S203), and the keypad is displayed in popup format on the input field. The user inputs the number through the touch operation of the numeral key button(S204).
