PURPOSE: An application function execution method of a mobile terminal and an apparatus thereof which easily uses various contents by removing the button corresponding to the function name are provided to input the function name to the touch screen area. CONSTITUTION: A mobile terminal outputs the signal about an input character(S203). The mobile terminal recognizes the input character(S204). In case the input character accords with the function name of the application, the mobile terminal practices the functionality under the function name(S205). In case the input character does not accord with the function name, the mobile terminal indicates the function name on the screen. The mobile terminal practices the functionality under the selected function name.
