PURPOSE: A method of washing cloth covered with dirt using a washing machine is provided to remove the dirt from a drum by proceeding to a drum cleaning course if a start button is pressed within 5 minutes after the basic washing completion and to automatically turn off the power of a washing machine if not. CONSTITUTION: A method of washing cloth covered with dirt using a washing machine comprises the following steps. Whether the washing course for a dirt covered cloth was selected is determinded(S10). After supplying water and performing a washing cycle, drainage is performed and the dirt is removed(S20). After supply water again to perform washing and rinse cycles, laundry is dehydrated(S30). When the washing completion alarming sound is output, whether a drum washing course was selected is determined(S40). If a start button of the washing machine is pressed within a predetermined time, the drum washing course is performed and otherwise the power of the washing machine is turned off(S50). |
