An imaging device (image display device) comprises a rear monitor (12) (display means) having a main display region (MR) and sub display regions (SR1-SR3). A display control means of the imaging device controls the display contents on the rear monitor (12) to display images in the sub display regions (SR1-SR3) and also display an image (P2) displayed in one sub display region (SR2, for example) out of the sub display regions (SR1-SR3) in the main display region (MR). When a predetermined change (such as rotation) is made to the image (P2), the image (P2) to which the predetermined change is made is displayed in both the one sub display region (SR2) out of the sub display regions (SR1-SR3) and the main display region (MR).
