PURPOSE: A method for displaying an image by virtual lighting and a terminal using the same are provided to reflect lighting effects that a user wants to an image and assign photographed effects under the lighting. CONSTITUTION: A face of a photographed person image is identified by detecting a face outline of the photographed person image(230). Virtual lighting is set in the photographed person image(260). A lighting effect according to the set lighting effect is displayed(270). The virtual lighting is performed through a virtual lighting location input menu. If a location of the virtual lighting is inputted, the virtual lighting is set at an inputted location.
