FIELD: food industry. ^ SUBSTANCE: method involves mixing food base with at least one long chain polyunsaturated fatty acid, thermal treatment of the resultant mixture at a temperature no less than 50C to produce a food compound, adding to the food compound a second amount of at least one long chain polyunsaturated fatty acid protected against oxidation and packaging the resultant mixture in a low oxygen environment to produce a food product. The amount of long chain polyunsaturated fatty acids jointly ensures bioefficient amount of long chain polyunsaturated fatty acid(s). The product storage life is at least 6 months.
