FIELD: process engineering. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metal forming, namely to disk mill mandrel. Proposed mandrel features variable cross section with holes. Said holes are made in mandrel rear part radially or, inclined, on back taper section. Said holes are arranged all around the mandrel. The number of holes and their diametres are selected to satisfy the condition that total area of holes cross section does not exceed area of inner section of the pipe feeding cooling fluid inside mandrel. ^ EFFECT: higher quality of inner surface of barrels, hence, that of pipes. ^ 1 dwg |
