Stackable, thin-walled plastic covers

The plastic cover has a frusto-conical upper side. The lower part of the cover extends outwards and then downwards with a depression near its lower end which fits over a border on the outer circumference of the container's opening. The covers are shaped to facilitate stacking so that the truncated cone wall of one cover lies next to the wall of a neighbouring cover. Lateral movement of a stacked cover is thereby effectively prevented. Stacks of covers are employed in autoamtic filling and closing machines.
