PURPOSE: A food management system and a control method for the same equipping a data communication unit are provided to utilize information stored in a mobile device when purchasing the food due to confirming the information of the food in a refrigerator. CONSTITUTION: A food management system and a control method for the same equipping a data communication unit include a mobile device and a refrigerator(100). The mobile device recognizes the food by taking a picture of a bar code. The mobile device stores the food preservation information included in the photographed bar code. The refrigerator includes data communication unit(460) and the display unit(400). The data communication unit receives the food preservation information stored in the mobile device.
