PURPOSE: An optical information recording medium is provided to improve the compatibility for recording/reproducing and use efficiency by defining effective recording/reproducing format. CONSTITUTION: An optical information recording medium includes a data area and a lead-in area(130). The data area is divided into multiple sectors in which hologram are recorded. The lead-in area is distinguished from the data area and has a recording indicating unit(133b) which indicates whether to record hologram in the sectors.
