METHOD FOR THE SAFE SHUTDOWN OF MOVEMENTS IN THE EVENT OF A COLLISION

The patent application relates to a technical method in which movements that may present a hazard to people or cause damage to property can be detected and reliably interrupted in the event of a collision occurring. The method can be used in the case of all kinds of natural movement, being suitable most particularly for translational movements, automatic handling devices or robots. To perform the safety function, all that is necessary is to adapt a sensor (F), which picks up the movement function, and a force measuring system (d) for sensing the forces at any given moment. Comparison of the two measured values is used to obtain a signal which detects collisions and then initiates a suitable safety function by means of a controller or a device of a similar kind.
