Systems and methods are provided for conditioning packaged powders. Accordin g to one method, a receptacle is provided having an enclosed chamber that contains a powder. At least one pul se of energy is applied to the receptacle to increase the efficiency at which the powder may be extracted from the chamber when flowin g a gas through the chamber.
