PURPOSE: A communication device and a method of searching for a phone book in a communication device are provided to supply corresponding user information even if a receiving/transmitting phone number is inputted into a communication terminal, wherein the receiving/transmitting phone number is not matched with a stored formatted of a phone book. CONSTITUTION: A method of searching for a phone book in a communication device comprises the steps of: setting a keyword-number string when a receiving or transmitting phone number is inputted into a communication terminal(S205,S215), wherein the keyword-number string includes a number string of digits from the last digit to a predetermined digit; and searching fro phone numbers in the communication terminal by using the keyword-number string if the receiving or transmitting phone number is an international phone number.
